Crescent City Harbor District Exploring Options in Wake of Tsunami Debt Load

A huge debt load, primarily due to devastating tsunamis and aging infrastructure, has the Crescent City (Calif.) Harbor District looking for financing options.
The Del Norte Triplicate reported this week that Harbor District commissioners began looking at options for the city to annex the port.
The district has a current $5.3 million loan it is repaying to the U.S. Department of Agriculture for inner boat basin rehabilitation after tsunamis in 2006 and 2011. The new inner basin was designed to resist a 50-year tsunami event, ...
