USDA Says Seafood Prices to Rise Slightly in 2019
According to a new report from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, food prices are expected to increase in 2019.
The USDA Economic Research Service forecasts that the food-at-home consumer price index will increase 1% to 2% in 2019. For fish and seafood specifically, shoppers can expect to see a 0.25% to 1.25% increase in prices. This is slightly lower than beef, veal and poultry, which is expected to increase 1% to 2% in the New Year.
