Independent Study Released of Potential Failure of Tailings Pond Dam at Pebble Mine
The first ever public presentation on what the effects of a dam failure at the proposed copper-gold-molybdenum mine in the headwaters of the Bristol Bay watershed will be presented on Friday in Anchorage.
“The study was developed after report scoping documents indicated there was likely to be inadequate tailings dam failure scenarios considered in the Army Corps of Engineers Draft Environmental Impact Statement,” according to a media advisory from Tyson Fick.
