Avanti Frozen Foods Expands June Frozen Shrimp Recall After More Illnesses Reported
Thai Union subsidiary Avanti Frozen Foods expanded a June 25 recall of frozen cooked, peeled, deveined, shrimp (with some packaged with cocktail sauce) because the products may be contaminated with salmonella.
The initial June 25 recall was sparked after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said a salmonella outbreak has been linked to frozen cooked shrimp.
