NOAA Updates North Atlantic Right Whale Unusual Mortality Event Data
In 2017 NOAA declared an unusual mortality event (UME) for the North Atlantic right whale. This month the agency updated figures, sharing that the latest preliminary estimate suggests that there are fewer than 350 North Atlantic right whales remaining.
